# Creating & using a Card.xyz/payment profile

**Creating a profile:**&#x20;

To create a profile, click on the Profile tab on the bottom navigation bar. You will then be walked through the process of creating a profile.&#x20;

**Payment profile overview:**&#x20;

* Ready to Claim = funds you have received that you can claim from the Card Pay protocol
* Your Available Balance = funds you have already claimed that are now inside your profile safe

**Requesting payments:**

Payments can be requested &#x20;

* from the Profile tab&#x20;
* or by clicking on the Pay tab and toggling "Request".

**Using funds from payment profiles:**&#x20;

* In the web dApp at app.cardstack.com, you can issue a prepaid card using the funds available in your payment profile. See [Issuing a prepaid card](https://support.cardstack.com/cardstack-products-and-environment/cardstack-wallet/issuing-a-prepaid-card).

* As of April 2022, funds received in a payment profile can only be withdrawn to ETH mainnet.&#x20;
